I have to admit that I’m a smoothie bowl addict, It’s my dinner 4-5 nights of the week. So quick, delicious and nutritious! I’ve heard a lot about Acai Bowls from youtubers but we don’t really have anything like there here in Canada so I was on a mission to find this in la la land. I went on a little 10 day vacay to California (you can see another fav food post here) and this was definitely my favourite thing I had to eat. I order this smoothie bowl at a place in the Highland Park area (I think) called Berry Bowl. I would have eaten here everyday and tried every bowl flavour plus the vegan ice cream. I ordered the Peanut Butter Bowl but asked to swap in Almond Butter instead of Peanut.

When I got home I definitely had to try my best to recreate this glorious dish. I found the acai bowl superfruit packs at whole foods (kind of expensive). This is a snap of the finished product. I topped it off with some granola, dried mulberries, dried goji berries and some cacao nibs.

These are all the ingredients you will need. If you don’t want to spend a bunch of money on the acai superfruit pack just use some frozen berries instead.

The recipe is just a guide, feel free to do what ya want! I mix it all up in my nutri-bullet, sometimes it doesn’t want to mix so I have to keep moving it around. You don’t want to add too much liquid because it should be thick enough to eat like ice cream and not smooth like a smoothie.

  • 1 frozen small banana
  • 1 frozen Acai Berry Puree with Guarana Smoothie Pack
  • 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 cup chocolate almond milk
  • 1 Tbsp almond butter
  • 1 scoop vanilla rice protein (optional)
  • top with granola, cacao nibs and dried goji berries.
