What I found at Gluten Free Garage

This weekend was the first beautiful, warm and sunny weekend of what I hope is finally Spring! I am really glad April is over, it was cold and wet. May 1st means a fresh new beginning because I’m moving!!! Between that and all the sun that’s coming our way, I’m going to be so ecstatic I won’t be able to contain myself.

Anyways.. boyfriend and I went to check out the Gluten Free Garage which is basically a large marketplace where different types of gluten free vendors come together and offer samples, products, deals, information, you name it! It was a lot of fun, we got a tote with admission to hold all our goodies and got to sample a lot of really delicious snacks. It was really strange because I actually don’t have a lot of Gluten-Free friends but between the two of us we ran into more people in an hour than we normally do in a couple months! They would all say with disbelief “‘Oh! are you gluten free too?!!”. It was kind of like belonging to some secret society.

Here are a few things that sparked my interest:

This is the first thing you see when you walk in (if you decide to walk down the right side instead of the left). So gorgeous and so yummy! Amazing cupcakes thanks to Tori’s Bakeshop.

This was the next thing I saw and I pretty much jumped for joy. Simply Bars are my GO-TO snack bar. They are so yummy, light, packed with protein and have a really low amount of calories and fat. The only problem is they aren’t sold everywhere and are $3 each which is steep but I still always buy them when I can.

Lucky for me, at the marketplace they sold a box of 15 for $20 (tax incl), SCORE! (I also got an entire free Kind bar as a ‘sample’ DOUBLE SCORE!)

These little puddings were really yummy, I preferred the Chocolate because I couldn’t taste the coconut as much as in the raspberry. They have a very light mousse like texture. They are completely gluten free and dairy free which is perfect for me! Boyfriend actually ended up knowing the creator of these snacks by Live on Chocolate from working at the same whole foods. She worked in the bakery and knew a lot about pastries so combined that knowledge with what she called her ‘vegan brain’ and created these amazing puddings!

I love chocolate desserts made with beets. These were very yummy :)
