Best All Natural Deodorant

which natural deodorant is best

Does drug store deodorant scare you? Me too!

All you hear about is how deodorant can cause cancer, which may or may not be true.. I don’t know and apparently the website doesn’t have a definite answer either.

  • There is no conclusive research linking the use of underarm antiperspirants or deodorants and the subsequent development of breast cancer.

  • Research studies of underarm antiperspirants or deodorants and breast cancer have been completed and provide conflicting results.

What we do know is that there are ingredients you should avoid that are in most antiperspirants/deodorants, like these:

  • Aluminum
  • Parabens
  • Propylene Glycol
  • TEA & DEA
  • Triclosan
  • Artificial Colors
  • Talc

SO obviously you decide at this point to use an all natural deodorant. You can buy these in most drug stores now however they are not all the same. I have used Tom’s, Body Shop, Alba, Lush and Penny Lane. I found the first three didn’t actually do anything, I might as well have worn none. Lush’s powder is great but I might as well just carry around a box of baking powder because it doesn’t have a great smell and powder isn’t so convenient to use.

I did hit the jackpot with Penny Lane Organics. I love the smell of the deodorant and it actually works! For a full 24 hours! Their product is:

penny lane natural deodorant

I used the pink grapefruit one and it smells amazing. I did find when I used it at first it stung like a mother. It was really painful, the second day was a little less and then everything was fine after that. I assume it’s the baking soda on open sores.. but I didn’t have any visible open sores from shaving or anything so I’m not sure why that happened but it did go away after a couple days and since then I’ve never had that horrible feeling. I’ve been using penny lane for about 6 months, I had it during the summer when I’d walk and hour to work and back and loved it. I do add a little water to the deodorant so it applies nicer on my skin.

One con, if you like invisible deodorant this isn’t that. I don’t really care about that so it doesn’t bother me. I wasn’t asked to post this review by Penny Lane, I was just so thrilled to find an amazing product that I wanted to share. Do you have a favourite?
